They are made from a mixture of oil processing by-products.
These materials are particularly resistant and impermeable to water, which is why they are used for coating surfaces exposed to weathering. At the end of their life cycle, the bituminous membranes, after being removed with the necessary precautions and packed in big bags or on pallets wrapped with heat-shrinkable plastic film in order to prevent the release of pollutants, are classified as hazardous or non-hazardous special waste depending on the results of the chemical analysis of the representative samples.
