Hazardous waste

Hazardous waste contains high levels of pollutants that are harmful to the environment. They must be treated in such a way as to reduce or neutralise their inherent hazards and toxicity. Their proper management therefore requires a series of specific commitments in terms of collection, transport, disposal and recovery by those who produce this type of waste.

SHREDDING PLANT

Since 2023, a plant for the treatment of hazardous waste, including flammable waste, has been in operation, authorising us to carry out an adequate volumetric reduction and homogenisation of the waste in order to improve its subsequent energy recovery. The plant is located in a dedicated area that meets all the necessary requirements to operate in complete safety.

Non-hazardous waste

Special non-hazardous wastes are all those wastes from business and commercial activities (not of civil origin) that do not contain substances that are harmful, dangerous or infectious to the environment, and therefore do not represent a real danger to the ecosystem. They are usually stored and kept in containers, tanks or cisterns with a special EER code applied to the container, for correct identification of the waste and its origin.

TREATMENT PLANT

Since 2000, a non-hazardous waste treatment plant has been in operation, complying with the technical standards UNI CEN/TS15359/2006 and Min. Decree 14 February 2013, which reduces the presence of impurities in all municipal and special non-hazardous waste through 3 processes.

Medical waste

Since 2017, a plant has been in operation for the sterilisation treatment of medical waste with infectious risk codes 18.01.03* and 18.02.02*, from hospitals, ATS, ASL, nursing homes, doctor’s practices, clinics, analysis laboratories, veterinary practices, tattoo parlours and beauty salons.

STERILIZATION PLANT

The sterilization plant for medical waste was commissioned in 2017.The plant has two feed lines, one for waste with disposable packaging and one for waste with reusable packaging, after being washed and sanitised in a specially equipped tunnel.
