What is agricultural waste?

All waste from agricultural activities is considered as special waste coming from farm activities.

Special agricultural waste is also divided into:

• Non-hazardous special waste: vegetable waste, used vegetable oils, sludge and livestock effluents, packaging and bags, used tyres, etc.
• Special hazardous waste: vehicles and machinery to be scrapped, expired livestock medicines, used motor oils, spent batteries, etc.

There are also animal by-products (ABP), which must be classified and treated appropriately, as they pose a risk to public health, animals and the environment, based on their defined risk level.

Therefore, ABPs require safe and adequate transport and disposal systems, according to current regulations.
