Medical waste sterilization plant

Nel 2017 è stato messo in esercizio l’impianto di sterilizzazione per rifiuti sanitari, dotato di due linee di alimentazione: una per i rifiuti con imballo monouso e una per i rifiuti con imballo riutilizzabile, previo lavaggio e sanificazione in apposito tunnel attrezzato. A seguito di una prima fase di triturazione, si svolge la sterilizzazione tramite vapore in pressione, al termine della quale avviene la fase di vuoto ai fini dello strippaggio di parte dell’umidità del rifiuto sterilizzato.

I rifiuti sanitari, attraverso il processo di sterilizzazione, possono essere utilizzati per la produzione di CDR – Combustibile Derivato da Rifiuti non pericolosi.
